Biography
Jennifer Heemstra is a North American concert pianist and cultural diplomacy leader known for international performances and large-scale cross-cultural projects. Praised for her dynamic artistry and visionary leadership, she has performed as soloist with major orchestras and on prominent stages worldwide, including the Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Cláudio Santoro in Brasília, the President’s Orchestra of Tajikistan, the Smithsonian National Museum in Washington D.C., and the Aini Opera and Ballet Theatre in Dushanbe.
Heemstra’s commitment to expanding access to classical music has shaped an extraordinary international career. As Founder of the Pitch Pipe Foundation (USA), she has produced over 150 concerts across six countries on three continents, uniting performance with humanitarian outreach. In India, she founded Kolkata Classics Trust, presenting more than 100 concerts for 65,000+ people and hosting master classes with faculty from Juilliard, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Michigan State University. In Brazil, she co-founded Música e tElas, a concert series that has staged 25+ performances with 40 international artists and expanded its audience base by 800% through partnerships with embassies, universities, and schools.
Her collaborations include Grammy-nominated tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh and members of the Cleveland Orchestra, Juilliard, and Michigan State University. She has performed for international dignitaries and ambassadors, including appearances at the Embassy of France and the Parliament of Brazil, as well as a special performance for the Minister of Defense of Brazil.

Her honors include the Michigan State University Young Alumni Award, the U.S. Secretary of State Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad, and a Certificate of Commendation from the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
Heemstra worked as a Lecturer at Case Western Reserve University (USA), was the Commencement Speaker for Michigan State University and was a delegate at the Second World Congress Against the Sexual Exploitation of Women & Girls.
A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music (M.M., Piano Performance) and Michigan State University (B.M., University Honors), Heemstra also holds a Graduate Certificate in Music Business Marketing and Management from the Berklee College of Music.
