Bastet Duo was formed in October 2022 in Brasilia, Brazil and made up of pianists Jennifer Heemstra and Anastasiya Evsina.
Bastet Duo is currently working on their first recording project which will feature the works of Samuel Barber, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Claude Debussy and Brazilian composers.

Anastasiya Evsina is a Russian pianist who gives concerts around the world. She has performed in venues such as Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall and Minato Mirai Recital Hall (Yokohama, Japan), National Palace of Culture (Sofia, Bulgaria), Paderewsky Hall (Lausanne, Switzerland), Rachmaninov Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Moscow, Russia), Centro Cultural in São Paulo (Brazil), and Fundação Eva Klabin (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
Evsina began playing the piano at the age of four. She completed her Master of Music degree in solo piano at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and in chamber music at the Gnessin Academy, after graduating from the Gnessin Academy with Honorable Mention. Evsina has won several competitions; her solo concert was nationally broadcast on TV1 Bulgaria. Evsina was invited for a special participation in the live program "Um piano ao queda da tarde" on Brasilia Super Radio FM and has given master classes with musicians and professors from the University of Brasilia. In 2022, Evsina gave a series of recitals under the theme "Great Composers-Pianists" which included pieces by S.Rachmaninov and S.Feinberg. |
Pianist Jennifer Heemstra is a high impact performer who has left her mark on classical music, education and underserved communities around the world. She has performed at venues, to include the Kala Mandir (Kolkata, India), Smithsonian National Museum (D.C.), Jazz Conservatory (Kathmandu, Nepal), Aini Opera and Ballet Theatre (Dushanbe, Tajikistan), and the American University (Sharjah, UAE).
Heemstra founded two nonprofits, Kolkata Classics in India and the Pitch Pipe Foundation in Michigan, USA. To date Heemstra has organized and performed in over 100 concerts in India, has successfully organized 72 cultural events in the USA and 56 events in the Middle East & Central Asia. Heemstra is expanding her international concert series to Brazil to provide free concerts for the public, master classes for young musicians and social services for those in need. Heemstra worked as a Lecturer at Case Western Reserve University (USA), was the Commencement Speaker for Michigan State University and was a delegate at the Second World Congress Against the Sexual Exploitation of Women & Girls. She earned her Master of Music from The Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor of Music with honours from Michigan State University. |
